Sweet Southern Boy

littlec of Clayversity made this perfect post. I want to share it with you.

One day a young southern boy walked onto the stage of the famous Ryman Theater and started singing. When he finished his "judge" told him to go back to driving a truck "you'll never sing on the Grand Ole Oprey" and he never did. He didn't go back to driving a truck either. Instead he worked his butt off and Changed the music landscape forever Critics booed him, haters trashed him, djs refused to play him, he ignored them and continued to sing his songs. He became so famous he only needed one name------------Elvis

49 years later another young southern boy walked out on stage in California and started singing, week after week. His "judge" told him to go to broadway because "you're not what we're looking for, a recording artist" He didn't go to broadway. Instead he works his butt off and is also changing the music landscape forever Critics boo him, haters trash him, djs refused to play him (but that is about to change) he ignores them and continues to sing his songs. He is becoming so famous that most people know him by one name------------Clay

49 years from now people will still know the name------------Elvis
49 years from now people will still know the name------------Clay

Just for fun and because he can, Clay did an Elvis set during his Jukebox Tour last Summer but don't be thinking he's any Elvis Impersonator because he also sang about 60 other songs by artists as varied as Sam Cooke, The Goo Goo Dolls and Ricky Martin. He simply has no limits to his talent.

  3. Just catching up on the last couple of your blogs, Chexxy, and seeing and hearing Clay sing again just tugs at my heart strings.

Yeahthat, after just reading A Thousand Different Ways blog I can tell you that the antagonist here was the same person I shut out on Equalizers. It's comical the way she keeps at it. Poor delusional wench.

A song from the CD has been leaked..

  9. It was not leaked from the CD. There is no way to know where it came from or if it is actually a studio rendition.

I personally love it but it sounds like a really rough studio track if that. I've probably listened to it 12 times in the past 40 minutes. Some of the phrasing is a little different from the live version. I cannot wait for this CD but have no idea where this leak came from. Who cares - its Clay and that voice is incredible.

Maybe the song was part of what they scrapped before starting over?

yeahthat, if you say there is no way to know where it came from or if it is a studio version, how can you say with certainty that it isn't leaked from the CD?

It's not THE CD version. It's a rought cut. I dunno.. this is all 'speculation' anyway.

  14. 2:30 I know because I know. Is that good enough for you?

If it's not, too bad 'cause that's all you're gonna get.

    Sorry.

The song is a rough studio draft. It will NOT be on the CD

How do we know that it will not be on the CD?

Ok, everybody's talking about the dang song. Can't we just wait until the CD comes out? I know it's tough, I'm very excited, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
meanwhile, somewhere else, they are TURNING on each other. I guess we're horrible people with no principles if we're going to buy one of his CD's.

Re the "leaked song"..the montage was made by an OFC poster who has now clarified where she found this version of 1000 Days. She downloaded it 4 months ago from Limewire (a file sharing site).

Many fans believe that this is a studio demo version from 2005 and won't likely be on the new CD. I liked 1KD when he sang it live last summer and this clip is a just the cherry on top. He can breath in my ear any time...

    Chexxy.. great Blogs.

Who is Becca? And why does she hate Clay so much?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous7:56 PM

She's an ex fan. A scorned ex fan. She met him at a M&G, and I guess he didn't fall in love with her at first sight, so now she hates him. She's turning on people who even dare say they're going to buy a CD. I think that's the problem. People's expectations of Clay are way too high. News alert anti-fans - he's only human. He's going to make mistakes. Just not the kind you think he made. But yea, that's the jist of Becca. Met him at a M&G, didn't like the way it went, so now she's making it her life's duty to make sure EVERYONE hates Clay. I'll tell ya though - for me, it's not happening. I loves me some Clay Aiken :)

Becca is that Michelle person who was hot for Clay and got scorned. When he wasn't interested in her romantically she was livid. Now she has to pretend she believes Clay is gay so she won't have to face up to the fact that Clay didn't want her.

She has made a fool of herself all over. Everyone is laughing at her. She pretends she knows something.

Why was my comment deleted? I just asked how 11:02 knew that. I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to cause trouble.
