Clay Aiken: The Real Deal

This is the current banner at Chexxxy's Place. The quotes are Clay Aiken's actual sentiments about his purpose and his direction in life. Some of these words were spoken 5 years ago and he has never waivered from his purpose. He not only talks the talk but he walks the walk. This is the real Clay and he doesn't even remotely resemble the twisted and cartoonish image the gossips attempt to project on him.

One of the members on our message board expressed her feelings about Clay.

joanie said:

It amazes me that the people who think they know Clay and what's best for him haven't a clue to the real Clay Aiken. None of us know what he does in his personal life, and we have no business trying to find out. What we do know is the public Clay Aiken. What the man stands for, what he does to help others in need, and the beautiful voice he shares with us.

In five years we've discovered what a talented, witty, kind, generous and loving man he really is. He's shown us some talents we weren't aware of initially. We know he can dance, though he tells us he can't. We know he can act; the theatre tickets sold for Spamalot proved that. We know he has the respect of Broadway, from the people who worked with him on stage and in the theatre, from the ushers to the box office people.

He's received accolades from people behind the scenes as well as the audiences. He performed under what most would call horrendous conditions. When he was so sick he couldn't even stand up to sing, and with someone [ a stalker] sitting in the audience who's tried to ruin his reputation and his career.

He's walked miles and miles of bus lines, and signed autographs in freezing cold weather. He's had many M&G's where he sits down and talks with his fans, and had to face fans that also are trying to bring him down for whatever reason.

Then he did something he said he's wanted to do for several years. He fathered a child. He wanted it so badly that he did it, knowing what the media, and some fans, would think. Even at the expense of disappointing or even losing some of his fans, Clay did what made him happy.

Clay Aiken is one of the strongest, bravest people out there today.

Clay Aiken is the same person he's always been, albeit a bit wiser due to life experiences and his celebrity status. I don't know why some "fans" think they have to change him to suit what they think he should or shouldn't do,or say he's not the Clay he was 5 years ago because he doesn't live up to the image of him in their minds. Sure he's gone through many different hair colors and styles but inside he's still the man he was. He is "The Real Deal."

Yes, Clay Aiken is the real deal. I remember his good friend Ruben saying that Clay was the most genuine person he had ever met. Clay has always been honest about who he is and where he stands. Too bad some people don't listen.

Clay is such a genuine individual. I often wonder why the gossip rags etc seem to target him. It's almost as if they are threatened by what a thoroughly decent human being he is.

Clay Aiken will always be my measure of a man. Although I enjoy many different singers and musical groups, Clay goes well beyond the entertainment arena to gain my admiration. His work with children through both UNICEF and the Bubel Aiken Foundation is truly inspirational. Although Clay is far too humble to take credit for all of his many humanitarian endeavors, I believe that through these labors of love, he has added new meaning to the definition of an American Idol.

Clay definitely has succeeded in making a difference. It's evident in the money he has raised for children via UNICEF, for Broadway Cares, for inclusion programs for the Bubel-Aiken Foundation, for the MD Association, for David Foster's Foundation (a grand piano, signed by many stars, was languishing around $250,000. When Clay offered to sing three songs, within minutes the bidding jumped to $500,000. The bidding was so fierce for it that David Foster proposed he'd get a second one. Clay alone brought in an additional $500,000.). In addition, Clay has inspired many of his fans to volunteer for various charitable causes. He has selflessly used his voice, which will long be remembered by those grateful people who have benefited from his caring.

  48. Other than the aesthetics and the growth as an entertainer and humanitarian Clay Aiken hasn't changed who Clay Aiken is. What has changed is the amount of integrity the media has lost and how an uninformed public has become complicit in accepting lies as truth. Borrowing from liars speaks volumes about those doing the reporting these days.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Anonymous11:23 PM

The rags and media will never tell the truth about Clay because it won't sell for them. The more sensational the lie, the more people will eat it up. Our world is truly a sick place.

  64. Clay Aiken : The Real Deal - without question.

The only reason for all the hating regarding Clay Aiken is jealously, pure and simple.

How can you hate a man who gives so much love to others, who still continues to champion causes relating to children in danger, who can still bring a smile to his fans, no explanation ever needed, whose voice no-one can match...

Hate...hmmm, such a strong word. I think envious fits the bill.

I will always be a Clay Aiken fan. The joy he brings to my life is unsurpassed - his songs can lift my spirits through bad days - he truly is one of a kind..
